    Martins Ferry @ East Liverpool

This should be a good matchup to watch. Both teams have good athletes and Liverpool is much improved. Who wins?

I think Edison and Creek fans are pulling for Martins Ferry for playoff reasons.

I'm pulling for Ferry just because of the potential week 8 barn burner.

You might be pulling for them but who do you think will win?

Ferry wins by double digits...East Liverpool is much improved, but they are not THAT much better...

I think Ferry won 28-7 last year and Ferry is not as good as last season. Plus, East Liverpool has a MUCH better coach and has an improved team with decent athletes.

This is going to be a close game, not decided on who will win.

Have to disagree with you. Ferry offense is much better than last years offense. Not only because they can pass the ball short, mid, or deep, just overall offensive speed from RB's, WRs, and O-Line makes this year offense better than last years.

Ferry's defense this year compared to last year I would say is pretty close to same, but a slight edge to this year because team more speed.

One thing your also not giving Ferry credit is beating Columbus Crusaders. Stinks to play a team in C-Bus that does nothing for playoffs but playing them did more for getting Ferry ready for playoffs than playing a local stiff. Looking at them more it looks like they have two legit D-1 prospects on that team and are well coached, something that was lacking from the team that beat Wheeling Central last year. That Columbus team runs a pee-wee program installing it's system with kids at early age and it's been around for some years. Then they take in many kids from C-Bus area who may not be academically eligible for public school team and play on the Crusaders team while going to public school and even most of those kids stay with the program. Take a look at some pictures of the Crusaders and you see a team that is in shape, full of athletic looking kids.

As for East Liverpool, this will be a good test for Ferry. Unlike some local teams Ferry is only worried about 1 team this week and it's East Liverpool. Unlike other teams you don't hear Ferry talking about a starter out the last two weeks setting up the excuse if Ferry would have lost. Hell, you didn't even hear about UL injuries the last few weeks, but when it comes down to a local team 1 starter out and it's the end of the world? WKKX does a good job covering sports, but how many times can you talk about 1 starter out and a back out over and over and over? I could understand if it was Clifford, but it was 1 starting lineman and 1 back up lineman.

East Liverpool has had to win 3 of their 4 games in OT. One in which coming against Beaver Local at home and Beaver Local is terrible! And I think Edison is much better team than East Liverpool and Ferry handled them rather easily.

Ferry wins by at least 2 TD's.

EL is much improved and a solid test, Ferry still has to be the favorite and will win.

Ferry is the favorite, but the Potters have shown a tremendous will to win. Should be a good matchup. Looking at Ferry's schedule, I'm guessing they have not seen speed like EL. But I can guarantee Liverpool has not played a team as fundamentally sound or as well coached as Ferry. I know Ferry is multi-dimensional and has a lot of good athletes. It should be a great game. The Potters are traditionally tough to beat at home. I can't wait for Friday. Go Potters!

The Columbus Crusaders and HC Huskies have plenty of speed.
