Checks out back to what we’re saying last year still stands true.

What are these kids currently shooting? I looked at their maxpreps page because the schott kid for Caldwell has had some big games recently. It says he’s played 9 games and is 29/57 from three for 51%. Pretty good hot streak it looks like.

Just a 2025 reminder when comparing kids that ball isn’t ball and never will be.

I think i know what you mean by this but would you break it down? I’m just looking at how well kids are shooting it. I don’t think hs has advanced analytics for shooting and I also know many of these kids have to create their own shots which effects results.

It’s simple… my thought to this is people comparing kids at different levels of HS ball and whether or not people agree it’s not equal …. Example

A kid playing D1-3 sized schools nightly shooting 40%
from 3 isn’t the same as a kid playing in 5-6-7 doing the same thing. It’s just not. The talent on floor night in and night out is vastly superior at higher levels of ball from help D to amount of elite defenders teams have etc etc.

While it doesn’t take anything away from anyone playing my message is it’s just not simply the same. Because at the end of the day just for me as a parent I want my kids doing things at a higher competition level.

I only give my opinion, im not talking down to anyone. There’s some good hoopers at all levels in our valley but jumping 2 steps up in competition would definitely change some stats. Just reality.

i assumed that was what you’re getting at and for the most part i do agree. Devil’s advocate could say playing at a bigger school means in theory you have better teammates which should give you more space to shoot. A lot of these small schools are one of two man bands with kids you don’t have to guard which leads to junk defenses. I’d say in the valley the difference small to big school isn’t as wide a gap as in larger populated areas but obviously there are still big talent gaps. I’d say the biggest difference isn’t shooting, you either can or you can’t, but the rest of the game. playing at a bigger school requires you be a more complete player

That’s fair which is why it’s just an opinion.

I'd say 20/29 is a pretty good hot streak!

Anyways, a solid 41-point drubbing by your cats. Battista was over there with arms folded per usual. He'd collected his plaque beforehand so I guess that's all that really matters.
Yes it was crazy..but they can shoot it! I'll update it next week after Tuesday's game. MF tomorrow, Zville Sat and Barnesville Tues.
