Playing D2 or even D3 sports in College is an extreme amount of work. I think many don’t make it because they realize at that point unless they truly have a deep love for the game there’s no point in playing.

Get all the "Offers" you wish, come back here in two years and let me know who's still playing.

I understand what you’re saying but I think a lot of kids quit playing D2 or D3 sports in college because of how much of a challenge it is academically, not necessarily a skill gap. They realize 1-2 years in, okay this sport isn’t preparing me for my career and choose to focus on academics. Obviously not the case for every one but that certainly happens a lot. IMO especially in football if you’re not playing D1 there’s really no reason to play and let your body take all that abuse unless you have a strong passion for it.

I remember Isaly dominated the OVAC 5 or so years ago and went on to have an outstanding career at Marietta. (Which is great) D-2 is a different animal & I don't think some realize that, but you'll be humbled soon enough.

Maybe, or they quit because they realize they're not gonna get a sniff of the floor.

I'm not here to single out H.S. kids, however "Offers" mean absolutely nothing. That is just part of the social media hoopla.

I’m sure that is the case on many instances as well.

Playing college basketball at any level is great, I just wish some parents understood that.

100%, D3 college hoops especially around this area have always been very good - that OAC conference is very competitive.

It means something in relation to what was spoken.

The guy said there weren't FIVE PLAYERS in the entire OVAC who could play D2 basketball, and I mentioned five who clearly could, have D2 offers, and have committed D1 & D2. Claiming that guys who are truly going D1 & D2 can't play D2 is strange. Only time will tell how things play out for those guys.

                        Sancomb 6'4 G (JR)
                        Reese, 6'6" F (D1 Football Commit)
                        Goodwin, 6'7" F (D1 Commit, San Diego)
                        Straub, 6'7 G (JR)
Davis, 5'11 PG - has scored nearly 2000 points while at Park and Steubenville (D2 Commit, West Liberty).

I'm not sure why there is any pushback to these names. Comparing Isaly, Yoho and Powell to these guys deserves the pushback.

Powell, Yoho & Islay all 2000 point scorers.

                          What's the pushback?

You think those guys from River, Bellaire and Barnesville were better players?

Isaly would score 3,000 against the teams in D6 and 7 now.

Ball is Ball < Common Sense.

                                by a landslide margin.
