Yes. Skyvue was OHSAA Class A runner-up in 1985; It'll be 40 years ago in March. Skyvue made it to the state semi's the year before in.

Though the basketball team didn't win a state championship, the 1985 baseball team did.

Mitch Hannahs was the biggest star of both teams.

A defensive point guard vs a 3 level scorer are completely two different players. If you want to go based just off skill 17 year old Haney is not better than 15 year old Vincent.

Hello again…. Because ball ain’t ball…. Start there and figure it out.

Scoring at 3 levels vs Shadyside, Magnolia,
Beallsville among others just doesn’t do it for fans of Ohio hoops.

Beallsville still rostering girls on the boys teams?? Let me know after Tuesday.

I was the summer basketball coach for Wheeling Park for almost 30 years. One year a single A player who had been selected the soph player of the year decided to come to Park and play the summer with us, After 2 or 3 games he came to me and said he should not have been soph player of the year and pointed to one of my players and said he should have been the player of the year. I had great respect for that young man for doing that. He did not go to Park and had a very good high school career. This one example of the difference of big school vs, small school. Not saying a small school player can not be better than a big school player, but 71malkinmania has a very valid point.

Without doubt the best sophomore in the valley is Haney, and that’s no knock to any other sophomore's who are also very good.

The StC v Big Red game had a ton of talent on the court and IMO he stood out the most compared to any of them. His defense in particular kept Steubenville in the game. I was blown away by the effort and toughness on the defensive end.

                            Fair assessment.

Santino is rare and on both ends of the floor.

The Allen kid, who's now a great player for Monroe Central, kept Beallsville Coed in a lot of games as a sophomore before transferring to MC. They went 8-15 with 2 girls starting in their backcourt.
