Short time and the trip back to River. Two (2) players who are playing their hearts out for the 'Tigers' are #5 Jacob Visnic and #25 Wyatt Reiman. Keep those legs churning on the ground and amp it up another notch before Friday night men. Hope the weather agrees and the passing game can balance out the 'Tiger' attack. GO 'TIGERS'! smile

#3 Rhys Francis is the Junior Quarterback for the Shadyside 'TIGERS' and has done a very good job. Kick it up a notch Rhys, River knows your skills very well and they'll be out to sack you big time. Watched Rhys starting last year and impressed with his level head at such a young age. You got 'LEGS' Rhys, move out with them when that defensive line is coming for you Friday night. Watch a video of Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs)...you remind me so much of his presence on the field. You have MUCH experience now...get down there and ROAR Friday night and depend on that great OFFENSIVE LINE to protect you. GO 'TIGERS' smile *What a job that OFFENSIVE LINE did vs East Knox!

WIDE RECEIVERS...get those hands ready to catch some balls Friday night. #23 Jordan Joseph has become a great receiver...did an outstanding job at East Knox. This is Jordan's last year as a 'TIGER'...he'll show up Friday night. #2 Mason Vannest another 'Tiger' receiver who hauls in great balls and moves down the field with great speed. #4 Alec Shepherd...another 'Tiger' who can show up on the field and catch great passes. TE #6 RYAN FLORENCE also has shown up big time for the 'Tigers'. #58 Mason Geraud and #72 Logan Crozier are doing heavy duty work big time as well as all those DEFENSIVE/OFFENSIVE LINEMEN who made sure the 'Tigers' move the ball, protect their quarterback and these players never get all the praise they deserve. If they don't do their job...nothing happens as a team. How these men have grown up since the beginning of the season...incredible what heart and guts do to 'Tigers' representing the orange/black. You ALL will be required to arrive at River Friday night inspired, play above 100% output for four (4) quarters because this will be a battle to the end. Make a memory MEN...even though River has home field advantage...you go in there with attitude and confidence. GO 'TIGERS'

Tigerfan...you are so right and those 'players' who do NOT make the paper will not be overlooked. Just thought it would be a 'tribute' to the 2020 team and all fellow schools that have played with impossible outside forces and still have hung in to have a decent season. We will get everyone each day until Friday, October 30th, to thank them 'by name' and I also did that a month ago with the 'Fight Song' acknowledging each player. We'll also name those 'managers' who help the players with water, etc., etc. No one will be overlooked! GO 'TIGERS' smile

Today, Monday, October 26th, we will be visiting probably one of the BEST FRESHMEN classes to appear on Fleming Field. This FRESHMEN class, mark it down, (if we're still here) will be 'TIGER' greats of tomorrow. Stay tuned...

In Shadyside you always see 'Shadyside' names, don't you? Have read, proofread the following MEN representing the Shadyside 'Tigers' from the FRESHMAN class of 'Tigers' football. Some of the records have errors and have tried to catch them...if you know there is someone missing or another error...please post. Just posting from SHS information provided. When I see BEN WACH I think of his grandpa 'Stush' Wach (recently deceased) and how proud he would have been to see Ben on the field this year. Also, MARK WAGGONER ...remember Rita Waggoner, mother of Scott Waggoner (deceased at age 14) and Mark Waggoner who died in a tragic accident in his early twenties. Rita didn't graduate from Shadyside but there was no better fan than Rita; i.e., football, basketball....whatever. Think our freshman Mark Waggoner would be Rita's great grandson and think how excited she would be to see him in a 'Tiger' football uniform. The names of our great freshmen are: COLTON GORBY...BEN WACH...CHRIS STILLION...DYLAN BOOTH...ANDREW OSMAN...KARL TSORAS...TYLER STOTTLEMEYER...NATHAN BOOTH...ALEX OLACK...MARK WAGGONER...LANDON PRICKETT...AUSTIN CARTE. We have seen some of these freshmen shine already this year and the great promise of future 'Tiger' football lies in this group. Congrats FRESHMEN 'TIGERS'!! smile

Big THANK YOU to those young 'TIGER' MANAGERS who show up to help keep the athletes hydrated, carry equipment, etc., etc. Many great 'TIGER' athletes were at one time a little kid helping out on the field and tossing the football around (when they have a break). In 2020 our MANAGERS are: D.J. DAVIS...TRENTON MARLING...LANE McCLELLAND...EASTON McCLELLAND. Watch these young ones become future 'TIGERS' and represent the orange/black. smile

Lots of conversation about the 'upcoming' Shadyside vs River game Friday night, October 30th. *By the way...don't FORGET to turn your clocks back one (1) hour Saturday night...we return to EST. OK...I have to agree that Shadyside is 'blessed' to have POWHATAN POINT athletes in all sports...we see it play out in every sport...can't deny it because it's true. 2015 'Lady Tigers' winning run for the State Championship in Softball was run in by POWHATAN POINT'S Kaitlyn Weaver. We've seen greats come out of our south end friends; i.e., Kelly Hendershot, Layne Hendershot, Tory Hendershot, Wyatt Reiman, Mattie(sp) Reiman, etc., etc. But...you can't say Shadyside 'Tiger' athletes coming right out-of-town in Shadyside are 'weak' compared to Powhatan Point athletes. They work just as hard, are committed to excellence, tradition, hard-nosed competition. So, with that said, GO 'TIGERS'! smile

Today is Weds., October 28th, and we celebrate and honor our MEN 'TIGERS' who are JUNIORS this year on the football team. Great talent also in this group and they are hard-nosed enough to show up at River 'Pilot' land and play like 'warriors' for four (4) quarters. No one will be able to start this game taking it easy because it will be a battle. Who will pick up the orange/black standard if one falls in the game or fails? Make sure your 'strength' is not SMALL Friday night men! Those great JUNIORS are: RYAN FLORENCE...MASON VANNEST. WYATT REIMAN...ZACH HESLOP...WILLIAM BAKER...HUNTER MINNEY...GAGE JOSEPH...RYAN CALL...LOGAN CROZIER...KRIS TSORAS...RHYS FRANCIS...ETHAN STANLEY. Think about it, this JUNIOR group will be the leaders next year for the 'TIGERS'! GO 'TIGERS'

Time for the MEN 'TIGERS' ... SENIOR athletes to LEAD Friday night at River 'Pilots' stadiium from the first quarter to the ending seconds of the fourth quarter. This could be your 'last go round' MEN...play a level above what you think you are capable of playing. EXCELLENT...SMART...football will be required Friday night to capture the WIN. Sloppy play, fundamental mistakes, unnecessary penalties...time to FOCUS as MEN. You have all been playing long enough, are experienced, seasoned athletes representing the orange/black tradition. You are the younger athletes EXAMPLE...show them what 'warriors' look like Friday night. Thanks to all you hard-working SENIORS and, hopefully, you move on in the OHIO Playoffs after Friday night. SENIORS are: JACOB VISNIC...JORDAN JOSEPH...ALEC SHEPHERD...MASON GERAUD...JACOB HONEYWELL...CAMDEN BROWN...ETHAN OLACK...*ANGEL VELASQUEZ who has departed the team but was a great kicker while on the team. Time to reflect on what Coach Mark Holenka said at the beginning of this crazy 2020 football season; i.e., 'WE'LL GO AS FAR AS OUR LINE CAN TAKE US.' We've seen this team work hard and the offensive/defensive lines were AMAZING at East Knox last week. Dig in MEN...you get very little praise in the newspapers but You are what makes the team go...without you...there can't be a football team. Eyes will be focused on the play of you great athletes...get down to RIVER 'PILOTS' land and play EXCELLENT football Friday night. You must all kick it up a notch in a huge game as will be played Friday night. River has the home field advantage but not the EXCELLENT play advantage. March in there like 'WARRIORS' and play a solid four (4) quarters. Represent MEN...tradition of Shadyside football marches on! smile

Time to acknowledge the great coaching staff of the Shadyside 'Tigers'. These men put in many hours preparing game plans and work sometimes into the 'wee' hours of the morning.
