WEXFORD, Pa. – Bethany College senior Tyler Dillinger (McKeesport, Pa.) and sophomore Brad Kubis (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) were named First Team All-PAC and junior T.J. Zarewicz (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) earned Second Team when the all-conference teams were released Tuesday.
This marks the third consecutive All-PAC honor for Dillinger, but his initial First Team award. The senior centerfielder led the team with 46 hits and nine stolen bases, while finishing second in runs scored (29) and third in batting average (.336). He also collected seven doubles, three triples, one home run and 17 RBIs during the season and was flawless in the outfield, handling all 105 total chances without an error for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
The four-year starter for the Bison completed his career as the program’s all-time leader in hits with 199 and at-bats with 564. He also finished third in career runs (126) and triples (nine), fourth in total bases (259) and tied for sixth in fielding percentage (.985).
A history education major who just graduated this past Saturday (May 14), Tyler is the son of George Dillinger of McKeesport, Pa.
This is the second consecutive First Team award for Kubis. He followed up a remarkable freshman season by hitting .344 with one homer, six doubles and 25 RBIs at the plate. Kubis’ sophomore campaign ended in a big way, as he had multi-hit games in seven of the last 10 contests played.
In addition to his hitting, Kubis, who made First Team as a Utility player, also served as the Bison’s closer for the second straight year. He posted five saves and 3.86 ERA in seven appearances while striking out five and walking just one. His five saves give him 17 for his career, which has already broken the Bethany career saves mark.
A biology major who was also voted Capital One Second Team Academic All-District II, Brad is the son of Bob & Terri Kubis of Aliquippa, Pa.
Zarewicz earned his initial All-PAC accolade after leading Bethany in nearly every major offensive category. In addition to batting .383, he clubbed three home runs, eight doubles, three triples, drove in 28 runs, scored 30 times and drew 16 walks to finish with an on-base percentage of .474 and an OPS of 1.057. His top game was on April 6 in a loss at eventual PAC champion Thomas More, as he went 4-for-6 with a homer, two doubles, 8 RBIs and three runs scored.
A business administration major, T.J. is the son of Cheryl and Tom Zarewicz of Pittsburgh, Pa.
