Entries are now being accepted for the Beast of the East Scramble for Scholarships, a 4-man scramble event set for a 1 p.m. shotgun start on May 26 at Oglebay Park’s Crispin Center Golf Course. The scramble is being sponsored by the old Warwood Reds baseball team to benefit the West Liberty University baseball program.
Prize money is $400 for first place, $300 for second and $200 for third with additional prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive, shortest drive and most accurate drive on select holes. Entry fee is $75 per person and players may register individually or as a team. The entry fee covers the cost of a cart, greens fees, refreshments and a steak dinner.
Early registration is recommended as the field will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Checks should be made payable to the Beast of the East. For additional information or to register, call Jim Kleeh (304) 281-3700 or Steve Wojcik (304) 218-1797.
