WHEELING – The field is set for Wheeling Jesuit’s annual Bill Van Horne Invitational. The two-day event, Friday-Saturday, March 25-26, includes over 1,000 men’s and women’s track and field athletes from 28 different colleges and universities as well as open competitors.
Wheeling Jesuit looks to finish in the top five on both the men’s side and the women’s side as they did one year ago – The women finished second and the men finished fifth. In addition, several Cardinal athletes are looking to repeat as first place finishers.
Emily Taylor won the discus and the shot put while teammate, Megan Pratt, took honors in the hammer throw, and the two are determined to sweep those events again.
The women’s 4×100 team of Kristen Saggio, Janey Hall, Olivia Lent, and Ashley White set a new school record last week at the Wake Forest Open and will be chasing history once again while Megan Truelove and Dustin Hall seek the 1500 meter run’s top spot.
Travis Hamrick is chasing a fourth consecutive NCAA qualifying mark in the 800 meter run while Craig Neiswanger will be competing in the two-day, 10-event decathlon.
