On Thursday evening, the Wheeling Jesuit softball team split a doubleheader with conference foe Glenville State College. The Lady Pioneers took game one 4-3 and an old-fashion pitching dual sent game two into extra innings.
Glenville State scored the first run of the game in the top of the ninth inning, but WJU’s Jarah Ice blasted a double, tying the game at one apiece. Ice moved to third on a deep foul flyout, and on a 1-2 pitch Skylar Berger cleared the playing surface with a long flyball over the center field fence.
