The Steelers, who are notoriously famous for not being very active in free agency made same surprising moves yesterday in the market.
The Steelers started the day by signing former San Fransisco 49er WR Arnaz Battle. Battle mostly lined up as a slot receiver for the 49ers, and was very active on special teams, on coverage and as a punt/kick returner.
The Steelers re added a familiar name to the roster by signing WR Antwaan Randle El. Randle El played for the Steelers from 2002-2005 after being a 2nd round pick. Last year for the Redskins, Randle El caught 50 passes for 530 yards.
Randle El was quoted as saying; “I feel like I’m home again, I hope I can compete for the #3 WR position.”
The most surprising signing of the day was the resigning of Safety Ryan Clark. Clark visited the Miami Dolphins over the weekend, and it was reported that the Dolphins were offering more money and possibly a starting position on the defense. Clark however opted to return to the Steelers as Tyrone Carters backup.
