MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Bethany College baseball team’s winning streak extending to five after defeating Pennsylvania College of Technology at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, Thursday afternoon.

Bethany 8, Penn College 3
The Bison struck first in the bottom of the first inning after CJ Owens drove in Devin Toothman. The lead was short lived as the Wildcats knotted the game 1-1 in the top of the second and later took the lead in the fourth inning.
Bethany’s Riley Brendel hit a three-run homerun to give the Bison a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth. The Bison added two runs in the fifth after Josh Speaker doubled to score Blake Connelly and Speaker would later score on a balk. The Bison would add another insurance run in the sixth with Owens driving in Mike Hines.
The Wildcats added a run in the seventh on a homerun and threatened the Bison with bases loaded but were unable to capitalize.

- CJ Owens and Riley Brendel led the Bison with three RBIs apiece.
- Josh Speaker and Devin Toothman scored two runs each.
- Mark Lavezza earned his second win of the year pitching 6.1 innings with seven strikeouts.
- Zach Nolf picked up the save.
