The Wheeling Jesuit women’s basketball team opened the 2011-12 season with an exhibition game against West Virginia University on Wednesday evening in Morgantown, W.Va. The Mountaineers shot a blistering 57.5 percent from the floor en route to a 100-23 victory.
Wheeling Jesuit was led by freshman Emily Robinson who cashed in three field goals, two from downtown, and added three free throws for 11 points. Senior Cassy Sanderson followed with nine points and added a team-high four rebounds while Alex Anderson chipped in three points.
Wheeling Jesuit will scrimmage Clarion University at the Alma Grace McDonough Center on Saturday, November 12th. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
