WEXFORD, Pa. – After batting nearly .600 in three games last week, Bethany College senior centerfielder Tyler Dillinger (McKeesport, Pa.) was chosen as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Hitter of the Week for April 4.
Dillinger hit .583 (7-13) with four extra-base hits, including his first home run and three doubles last week. He also scored four runs, knocked in three and swiped two bases. His big week started with an RBI single in game one against #19 Thomas More March 29. Then in game two, he stroked a double and belted a solo homer in the Bison’s 5-2 setback.
With Dillinger’s help, Bethany got back on the winning track Friday April 1 against Grove City. He went 4-for-5 at the plate, including a pair of doubles, scored three runs, drove home one other and stole two bags, as BC used five runs in the eighth inning to rally for a 9-6 win over the Wolverines.
Since opening the year with just one hit in his first 12 at-bats, Dillinger has been on a tear. In the last 10 games, he has 19 hits in 42 at-bats (.452 average) and is now hitting .370 this year with 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored, which are both tied for the team-lead.
A history education major, Tyler is the son of George Dillinger of McKeesport, Pa
