PITTSBURGH — The Pirates will be moving forward with a six-man rotation for two times through, then the will decide the final week of the season who will get the reamaining starts.
“We’re going through it two times through the rotation,” Manager Clint Hurdle said. “We’re still trying to make sure that we don’t readline James McDonald or Charlie Morton. We backed Charlie up a few days already. Two times through and that should take us to the last six or seven days of the season. We will see what we have available then, if we need to spot start anybody or how we’re going to roll.”
The six-man rotation consists of Jeff Karstens, Morton, Ross Ohlendorf, Jeff Locke, McDonald and Brad Lincoln.
