After a disappointing season of unfortunate events in 2008, the Potters are ready to move forward, and they think they have their man to do so! Though its not official yet, Coach Mark Asher has been recommended for the school boards approval on March 9th.
Though Asher is not a Valley native, he brings previous college coaching experience to the table for the Potters. He was previously an assistance at Ohio State University under Jim Tressel, and head coach at Division 3 Otterbein College from 1988 to 1990 where he recorded a career record of 10 wins – 19 loses, and 2 ties.
Though the Potters program had a rough year in 2008, they certainly did not lack talent, and some of that talent will be back for 2009, including running back Willie Leavell who rushed for 330 yards and 5 touchdowns in the final game of the year. Don’t be surprised to see the Potters rebound quick in 2009…
