MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Bethany College track & field teams competed on the final day of the Coach O Coastal Carolina Invitational on Saturday. Andre Butler (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) led the way for the Green & White with strong performances in both the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash.
Butler followed up a solid showing on day one with another top-five finish in the 400-meter dash. He sprinted to fifth place with a final time of 49.48. Butler also placed 13th in the 200-meter dash (22.16).
Kyle Minger (Richmond, Ohio/Edison Local) also performed well in the 200-meter dash, posting a final time of 22.43 as he earned 21st overall.
Long-distance runner Ryan Donnelly (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) turned in a time of 9:20.56 in the 3000-meter run, placing 20th in the event.
Matt Dunn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) led the way for the Bison in the discus throw, collecting a 29th-place finish (121-5 ft.). Justin Hart (Blanchester, Ohio/Fayetteville-Perry) picked up 37th in the shot put (38.8 ft.)
The Bethany track & field teams will be back in action on Saturday, March 19 as they participate in the Muskingum Invitational at 11 a.m.
