MORGANTOWN, W.Va.– The Mountaineer Athletic Club and WVU’s Varsity Club, are pleased to announce a Coaches “Chalk Talk” Round Table event, presented by Charleston Law Firm, Bucci, Bailey & Javins, LC.
The event, part of this year’s Gold-Blue Spring Game festivities, will take place at the Waterfront Place Hotel on Friday, April 29, at 4 p.m., and will feature former Mountaineer head coaches Bobby Bowden, Jim Carlen, Frank Cignetti and Don Nehlen. These WVU greats will share stories with the audience from their respective time as Mountaineer head football coach.
Individual tickets are available for $100 per person and a table of 10 can be reserved for $1,000 per table. Proceeds from the event will benefit programs that enhance the overall experience of WVU student-athletes. Tickets for the event are available by contacting the Mountaineer Athletic Club at 1-800-433-2072.
“It is an exciting time for the University, Athletic Department and our fans to have four former Mountaineer head football coaches together at one time to talk about West Virginia football, their time here at the University and about the state of college football today,” said Dale Wolfley, coordinator of WVU’s Varsity Club. “This is another nice addition to the list of activities that will make the Gold-Blue game and the football reunion special.”
Following the “Chalk Talk” Round Table, the Gold-Blue Old Timers’ game will kickoff the football portion of the weekend, at 7 p.m., inside Mountaineer Field at Milan Puksar Stadium. One team will be coached by Mountaineer greats Bobby Bowden and Jim Carlen and the other team will be coached by Don Nehlen and Frank Cignetti. The Gold-Blue football game will follow the conclusion of the old timers’ game.
