The Toronto Argonauts Football team of the Canadian Football League signed former Steubenville Big Red and Cincinnati Bearcats’ QB Zach Collaros. Collaros, who signed through 2013, finished his final university exam earlier this week and then boarded a plane for Toronto shortly afterward.
Collaros made only four starts as a sophomore at Cincinnati but he made the most of them throwing for 1,434 yards and 10 touchdowns. That was enough to earn him a starting job the next season and beyond. He would go onto throw for 2,902 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2010, and 1,934 yards and 15 touchdowns (1st in Big East) in 2011. After an impressive college career, Collaros was invited to a mini-camp with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
