WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men’s tennis team opened the West Virginia Conference portion of its spring schedule with three convincing wins.
Coach Sam McCullough’s Hilltoppers rolled to a 7-2 victory at Fairmont State on Friday before blasting Shepherd, 9-0, and Davis & Elkins, 8-1, in a pair of Saturday matches at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
Erik Jahreskog, Tim Sylvester, Alex Fager and Alex Conway didn’t lose a set in sweeping all three of their singles matches over the weekend.
West Liberty heads south later this week with a Wednesday match at West Virginia State followed by a non-conference visit to Shaw (N.C.) on Thursday.
