Greensburg, PA – Senior pitcher, Noah Mull, hurled a complete game on Sunday as the Cardinals defeated the Seton Hill University 4-1.
The Cardinals were unable to even the series at 2-2 as the weather washed out game four. In seven innings of work, Mull gave up one run on three hits and continued to show his dominance as he sent 13 Griffins back to the bench while achieving three consecutive starts with double digit strike outs.
Mull has a 1.89 earned run average with two wins in three starts. In 19-innings pitched, he has allowed 12 hits, four runs, five walks, and 35 K’s which averages out to 16.6 K’s per 9-innings.
The Cardinals pounded out 12 hits for their first WVIAC win and was led by Robbie Davia in a 3-4 effort with one RBI. Mike Ludewig and Jordan Kraus each added two hits and an RBI while Seth Fluharty picked up a base hit with an RBI. Wheeling Jesuit received two stellar pitching performances on Saturday but dropped a pair of close games.
Time Giebel went 5.1 giving up four hits and two runs while striking out five. The Cardinals out hit the Griffins in game one but failed to cross the plate as they fell 2-0. In game two, Kraus hit a two-run bomb in the second to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead. Ludewig followed by sending one out of the park in the fourth, and the Cardinals tacked on two more in the fifth on a single by Davia.
Seton Hill put together six consecutive hits in the bottom of the seventh and ended the game 6-5 on a sacrifice fly.
