FAIRMONT, WV The West Liberty University women’s tennis team remained unbeaten in West Virginia Conference action Tuesday afternoon with a 9-0 rout of Fairmont State on the Falcons’ home courts.
It was the second shutout in three days for Coach Heather Gallagher’s Hilltoppers (4-2, 3-0), who were coming off a 9-0 romp past Shepherd on Sunday.
Lauren Howard, Emma Windsor, Raissa Wischi, Alexandria Barr, Christina Pauley and Moleigh Poling were West Liberty’s singles winners on Tuesday while doubles triumphs were posted by the tandems of Howard and Wischi, Windsor and Barr, and Pauley and Sarah Howells.
The Lady Hilltoppers will take on Davis & Elkins in Charleston Friday at 5 p.m. and will remain in the capital city over the weekend to compete in the International Tennis Association (ITA) regional event.
