Steubenville’s Dwight Macon hopes to contribute for Toledo this year. Playing two positions, quarterback and wide receiver, the Junior has a good chance of being a factor for the Rockets.
At quarterback, Macon will back up returning Senior starter Terrance Owens. Owens threw for 2,707 last year for the Rockets. At wide receiver, Macon is projected to line up in the slot for the Toledo spread offensive attack.
Heading into the 2012 season, Macon was projected to be the Rockets #1 receiver after having an impressive spring game. In that game, Macon hauled in 7 receptions for 114 yards. During the regular season, Macon grabbed 18 receptions for 110 stripes.
While at Steubenville, Macon was the D3 Player of the Year in the State of Ohio in his Senior outing.
Toledo will kickoff their season against Florida on August 31st.
