After ascending to the No. 1 ranking for the first time in university history yesterday, the Wheeling Jesuit men’s basketball team kept its top spot in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional rankings released Wednesday afternoon.
Wheeling Jesuit takes its 21-game winning streak on the road Thursday night to Notre Dame before closing out the regular season at West Liberty on Saturday afternoon.
The Hilltoppers will be gunning for their 10th straight win when they host Urbana on Thursday night. Saturday’s 4 p.m. showdown with Wheeling Jesuit is set for a national telecast from the ASRC.
This week’s rankings were virtually unchanged from last week’s initial set with the top three spots once more occupied by teams from the Mountain East Conference.
Wheeling Jesuit (26-1) edged out Coach Jim Crutchfield’s Hilltoppers (24-2) for the No. 1 spot with Fairmont State (23-3) locked in at No. 3.
