Wheeling Jesuit pitcher Noah Mull received his third WVIAC Pitcher of
the Week Award for 2010. In Saturday’s performance against arch-rival
West Liberty University, Mull threw eight complete innings denying the
Toppers a single run. The Wheeling Central standout fanned 10 hitters
while only allowing two hits. Mull improved to 6-0 with the win and
lowered his Earned Run Average to 1.02.
On the season, Mull has achieved double digit strikeouts in 4-of-6
starts –11 vs. Charleston, 11 vs. Point Park, 13 vs. Seton Hill, and
10 vs. West Liberty, and managed eight strikeouts against the
University of Pitt-Johnstown while collecting nine against Shepherd
University. Noah appeared once in a three-inning relief role where he
sent 6-out-of-12 batters back to the dugout.
Currently, Noah has accumulated 68 strikeouts in 44 innings pitched.
He ranks second in NCAA Division II strikeouts per nine innings,
averaging 14 K’s an outing.
Mull’s next start is scheduled for Senior Day on Sunday, April 25th
against Fairmont State University at the I-470 Complex starting at
1:00 p.m.
