More than mid way through the 2009 season, we’ve seen some great football.
In the Big School division, we’re led by Steubenville (7-0), Brooke (6-0), and Magnolia (6-0) who are all undefeated. Trailing closely behind, Martins Ferry and Zanesville check in with 6-1 records. Not far behind, we’ve got 5 teams checking in at 5-2, with 4 of them being Buckeye 8 schools. Of the 5, keep your eye out for Parkersburg South and St. Clairsville as they’ve both been picking up momentum. St. Clairsville will have a chance get ahead of the pack this week against Martins Ferry.
In the Small School division, our only remaining undefeated is Weirton Madonna (6-0). Four teams check in at 6-1 with Caldwell, Monroe Central, Bridgeport, and the Zanesville Rosecrans. 7 teams are playing competitive football with only 2 loses. Barnesville (5-2), Frontier (5-2), Shenandoah (5-2), Fort Frye (5-2), Wellsville (5-2), Wheeling Central (4-2), and Bishop Donahue (4-2) are all in control of their own fate and capable of winning the conference, and earning a playoff birth.
