PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – Emma Romanowski, a multi-sport standout from Parkersburg High School, is the newest member of the West Liberty University softball program.
Romanowski recently completed her fourth season with the Big Reds’ diamond squad, earning honorable mention from the West Virginia Class AAA all-state committee and special mention from the Mountain State Athletic Conference coaches for the second consecutive year.
She also earned honorable mention as an all-state goalkeeper from the West Virginia Soccer Coaches Association and was a two-year letterwinner on the Parkersburg girls’ basketball squad.
The versatile athlete began her softball career as a shortstop at Parkersburg but was switched to centerfield as a junior to take better advantage of her speed and strong throwing arm.
In addition to her all-state and all-conference honors, Romanowski was chosen to compete in the 2009 Queen of Diamonds North and South Showcases. She was also named as an outfielder to the North American Select softball team which traveled to the Netherlands to compete against several European national teams in Indoor Cup 2010 in January.
Romanowski served as Senior Class Treasurer during her final year at Parkersburg High School and was an honor roll student.
