The Pirates made a trade with the Seattle Mariners that has brought middle infielder, Robert Andino to Pittsburgh in exchange for a player to be named later.
Andino played 29 games for the Mariners going 4-for-76 (.184) with a .490 OPS and four doubles while knocking in four. He walked 7 times.
He batted .229 with a .615 in 44 games in the minors this year for the Mariners AAA squad where he hit three homers and had 12 RBI.
He has a major league career .232 average (.612 OPS) with 18 homers and 96 RBI while striking out 309 times in nine seasons.
He will be sent to AAA Indianapolis and is not on the 40-man roster.
