PNC Park – The Pirates (62 – 42) head into today’s double header a ½ game behind the Cardinals (62 – 41). A.J. Burnett & Brandon Cumpton will go for the Bucs, while Lance Lynn & Tyler Lyons will go for the Cards.
Hurdles Quotes
On pen guys going in both games – “I would anticipate we would. We’re looking around 15 – 20 is a gray area, 20 we’re done. If they throw 20, there’s a probable chance that they won’t be used again. One guy that we might bring back today that’s thrown over 20 would be Vic who threw last night because he’s a big, strong young man and he’s done it before.”
Hurdle also got some good information from former Pirate great, Kent Tekulve on how to treat relievers in-between games. “We did get some very interesting information from Tekulve the last time had one of these (double header). He encouraged us to not ice down our relievers in-between games because ice starts the healing process. You just have them pitch, keep them hot and keep them going.”
Trade Deadline Update
There are a couple of rumors going around that Bud Norris could be a possibility to come to Pittsburgh in a deal that could be done today. Tyler Glasnow is the name going around that could go to Houston in the exchange as Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports has reported here:
Sources: Bud Norris very likely to be dealt today, and Pittsburgh could be landing spot. Package built around Tyler Glasnow makes sense.

Another deal that could be done in the next two days could be Alex Rios to the Bucs, but it is still a ways away as David Kaplan of CSN Chicago reports:
Sounds like White Sox and Pirates are getting close on a deal for Alex Rios. Cash being worked on. Not sure if they can find a middle ground
