PITTSBURGH — With 2012 opening day just a little over two months away, PNC Park announced that with a new multi-year renewal with Budweiser, the ballpark will have a new bar for fans to enjoy this season. The Pirates will debut the Budweiser Bowtie bar –which is an expansive bar and lounge area open to all ticket holders on a daily basis –on opening day, April 5, 2012.
“It is important that Pittsburgh remains home to the ‘Best Ballpark in America,’ therefore we are constantly looking for ways to update and improve PNC Park,” said Pirates President Frank Coonelly. “We are extremely proud to partner with Budweiser and ARAMARK to bring our fans what is sure to become the new hot spot within PNC Park.”
“Partnering with the Pirates has been a natural fit for the Budweiser brand, and we’re excited to see the relationship continue,” said Rich Gutierrez, group director, local media buying, Anheuser-Busch. “We also have the opportunity to connect with adult fans in unique ways, including the introduction of the Budweiser Bowtie Bar.”
The Budweiser Bowtie Bar represents a partnership of the Pirates, Budweiser and ARAMARK to create an exciting game-day destination that will be open to all fans.
Some of the features of the Bowtie Bar include: an expansive “U” shaped bar which will become a focal point in the right field corner, the ability to purchase select food items from within the Bowtie Bar footprint, an open floor plan overlooking right field, as well as the Allegheny River and Downtown Pittsburgh cityscape, seven flat screen HD televisions to ensure fans don’t miss any of the game action and a expanded cover patio space with rear glass wall to protect fans from weather. There is also the option to rent a portion of the space to host a private group outing of 50 or more people with hospitality included on game days and non-game day.
Fans at PNC Park can access the Bowtie Bar from the main concourse at the top of section 101.
