Wheeling, W.Va. – Junior guard Eric Siefert exploded for 25 points as the Jesuit Men’s Basketball team downed Ohio Valley University 87-74 in non-conference play Saturday afternoon in the McDonough Center.
Siefert hit 8 of 15 from the field, made 5 of 6 foul shot attempts, had 5 rebounds, and added two assists in 34 minutes of play.
Three other Jesuit players hit double digits in the win. Sophomore forward Kyle Ritz went 6 of 9 from the field, had seven rebounds, and added two steals and a block. Junior forward Tim Goff posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Finally, freshman forward Patrick Moseh made 3 of 4 from the field, drained the only three pointer he attempted, and hit 5 of 8 from the foul line for 12 points on the night. Moseh also added six rebounds and three assists.
Wheeling Jesuit only committed eight turnovers in the game. The Cardinals had a 15 to 4 advantage in points off turnovers, getting Jesuit out to a 12 point lead at the half.
With the win, Jesuit Men’s Basketball moves its overall record to 5-3. The Cardinals go on the road for their next two games after the Christmas break. Jesuit travels to UVA-Wise for a Mountain East conference game on January 3rd at 4pm. The Cardinals then continue on the road against Concord University on January 5th at 6pm. The next home game for WJU is January 8th against Fairmont State University.
