OVAthletics.com STAFF Release
While it wasn’t an easy task naming our first Athlete of the Month for the new school year, not many names stuck out more than St. Clairsville’s Jaclyn Dutton. Dutton, a senior has been a standout all year for Coach Joe Kubiks’s Lady Devils soccer squad. Her efforts haven’t went unnoticed as she was recently named ESPN’s Rise Athlete of the Week.
For the Lady Red Devils, Dutton has 159 goals with approximately 6 matches left depending on how deep the Lady Red Devils play into the postseason. She is currently 3rd on the all-time goals list in Ohio, 5th on the goals scored in one game list, with 7 in one game, and 7th on the list for goals scored in a season at 51. For this season she has 32 goals and 5 assists thus far.
As a Junior in 2008, Dutton was awarded to the All-Ohio, All-East District, All-OVAC, and All-Valley teams.
For her amazing athletic ability, Jaclyn Dutton was heavily recruited by the University of Pittsburgh, West Virginia University, and the University of Michigan before she committed to continue her athletic and academic careers in South Carolina at Clemson University.
To see Dutton in person, you can watch the Lady Devils take the field October 7th, as they host the Cambridge Bobcats in St. Clairsville.
On behalf of the whole staff @ OVathletics.com, we would like to congratulate Jaclyn Dutton for her amazing athletic efforts, and wish her luck with all her future endeavors!
