Steubenville knew that they were going to have their hands full when Inkster made the long trip to Death Valley from Michigan.
Inkster was led by QB Devin Gardner and Jonathon Taylor who have already committed to the University of Michigan and Central Michigan, respectively. On the Day, Gardner would throw for 275 yards passing, while Taylor was on the receiving end for 134 of them.
With under a minute left in the game, Steubenville led 29-28, but with 49 seconds left on the clock, Inskter connected on a 63 yard TD bomb by the arm of Gardner to make it 34-29. Gardner connected on the 2 point try to put Big Red behind by 7.
Big Red would be unable to score, which ended an Ohio Valley record 68 game win streak. The lose also snapped the Big Red home game win streak at 60.
