The Trib Today in Warron, Ohio has listed Brooke’s Tom Bruney as one of the candidates for the football head coach position at Warren G. Harding High School.
Out of 26 orginal canidades, the list has been narrowed down to 8, with Bruney in good competition. The other 7 coaches who made the short list are;
- Devlin Culliver – Coached at Painesville Harvey, Warrensville Heights and East Cleveland Shaw.
- Luke Ethington – Coaches at Maurice J. McDonough High School in Maryland.
- Todd Filtz – Former Steubenville Big Red grad, coached the last three seasons at Maple Heights High School.
- Dan Reardon – Former Harding assistant, led Ursuline to the last three Division V state championships.
- Rick Rios – Coaches at Toledo Rogers High School.
- Jeff Bayuk – Coached at Canfield, Hubbard and Campbell Memorial.
- Anthony Thornton – Coaches at Columbus Brookhaven High School.
The school hopes to further narrow their list to 3-4 candidates by Monday, and ultimately make their hiring decision by March 4th.
Can you blame Bruney for looking at other opportunities? For the past 2 years it seems like he’s been fighting an uphill battle against his own administration and boosters. What are your thoughts? Talk about it in our Forums!
