Steubenville 31, Morgantown 9 – While Steubenville only won 31-9, they went into halftime up 31-0 over Morgantown. Big Red looked like they were in mid season form against the Mohigans.
Meadowbrook 32, Union Local 26 – Coming off a 1-9 season, Meadowbrook had lost 5 straight games to Union Local, dating back to 2006.
Wheeling Central 31, Bellaire 13 – After several off season transfers and declining enrollment, the Maroon Knights were expected to be “down” this year.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENTS
John Marshall 6, Cambridge 58 – The Monarchs gave up over 700 yards of total offense to Cambridge. The Bobcats ran for 534 yards on the ground alone. Cambridge finished the 2010 season 5-5.
Harrison Central 18, Claymont 40 – Prior to Friday night, Harrison Central hadn’t lost to Claymont since the 2006 season. Claymont finished the 2010 season 2-8.
Monroe Central 7, Columbiana 13 – Coming off a high pre-season rank, Monroe Central was only able to produce 140 yards against a Columbiana team that went 5-5 a year ago.
Bridgeport 8, Bishop Rosecrans 44 – After going 11-1 last year, the Bulldogs had high hopes that they could continue their winning momentum into 2011 against a Bishop Rosecrans team that went 3-7 last season.
