PRINCETON, W. Va. – The 2012-13 WVIAC regular-season champion West Liberty Hilltoppers are currently ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic Region poll, released Wednesday. Four of the top 10 teams in the rankings are from the WVIAC.
WLU, the No. 3 team in the latest NABC rankings, earned the top spot. The poll includes games through Feb. 17 and has the Hilltoppers at 23-1 in the region and 24-1 overall.
Fairmont State is third in the Atlantic Region with a 18-6 region and overall mark. The Falcons are currently second in the WVIAC standings.
Alderson-Broaddus sports a 16-7 regional and overall record in the rankings. The Battlers currently stand in seventh place.
Wheeling Jesuit sits in 10th in the Atlantic Region with a 15-8 region and overall ledger. The Cardinals have two regular-season games remaining.
The regional rankings will be released two more times before the final NCAA Tournament selections on Sunday, March 10.
