West Liberty topped Glenville 16-13 to open conference play under the newly formed Division 2 Mountain East. The Mountain East is primarily composed of defunct WVIAC members, who voluntarily left to join play in a more advantageous conference.
The Toppers got it done with strong defensive play, getting 3 interceptions, 4 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. WL struggled offensively, only producing 252 yard.
Wheeling Parks Alex Wood, returning from a 2012 knee injury, had 6 tackles on the day for the Hilltoppers.
