PRINCETON, WV – The Wheeling Jesuit volleyball program reached the Elite Eight for the first time in school history and concluded the season 23rd in the final AVCA Coaches Poll.
The Cardinals, 36-4, fell to Hillsdale in the national quarterfinals. WJU won the WVIAC regular season with a 14-0 record and swept through three matches at the WVIAC Tournament. The squad lost just four sets during the regular season against league foes and breezed through the Atlantic Region as the No. 2 seed, winning the first-round match 3-0 before taking the semifinals and finals by identical 3-1 contests.
WJU was the lone team from the Atlantic Region ranked in the final poll.
