WHEELING, W.Va. – On the morning of Saturday, March 16th, the Seton Hill Women’s Lacrosse team, Seton Hill University, and all schools in the WVIAC Athletic Conference suffered a tragic loss when Coach Kristina Quigley and her unborn son were killed in a bus wreck.
In this time of mourning, The Wheeling Jesuit University Athletic Department, and the greater WJU community reach out and offer our prayers and sincerest condolences to all those affected by the loss.
“I called Seton Hill President JoAnne Boyle as soon as I could after hearing this sad news.” said WJU Executive Vice President James Fleming, SJ. “Seton Hill has been our close competitor in the athletic arena for many years, but more importantly, they are a close ally in our shared mission to educate young men and women in the Catholic tradition. I send my prayers and deepest sympathies on behalf of everyone here at Wheeling Jesuit.”
WJU Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Tim Florence echoed the sentiment of support for their fellow student athletes. “This loss hits very close to home for our girls.” said Florence. “We’d just like to let the players, staff, and everyone at Seton Hill know are with them in spirit, and wish to provide any support we can. As a member of the Lacrosse community we want to help in any way possible as they mourn the loss of their coach.”
