WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University sophomore Taylor Snare has been named Atlantic Region Player of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA).
A hard-hitting left fielder from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Snare adds the regional Player of the Week Award to the West Virginia Conference Player of the Week citation he picked up on Monday after helping lead the Hilltoppers to a doubleheader sweep at Bluefield State on Saturday.
Snare had a single and an RBI in West Liberty’s 7-5 opening game win in Bluefield before putting on a dazzling offensive show in the second game.
The WLU outfielder didn’t make an out, going 5-for-5 at the plate with three doubles and two more singles en route to a career-high seven RBIs as the Hilltoppers overcame an early 6-0 deficit to finish off the sweep with a 13-6 win.
Mercyhurst (Pa.) senior southpaw Ben Rawding was the NCBWA Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week.
