When the WVU baseball team took off for Oklahoma, I’m sure they planned on sending in some relief during the Big 12 Baseball Tournament. But this time, the team has taken the term literally.
When a massive tornado ripped through just about every square inch of Moore, Oklahoma, people in Morgantown began to question the safety of their baseball team, who had traveled out to participate in the Big 12 tournament this week. Countless thoughts and prayers were going out on behalf of everyone involved or near the area, including the team, but the supporters of the WVU baseball team quickly found out that head coach Randy Mazey and the team were en route to a local Wal-Mart to buy supplies to head down to Moore and provide some real life relief. Coach Mazey soon tweeted:
Our team is safe from tornado, missed us by 5-10 miles.Trying to get team to Moore, OK to help.Wouldn’t let us in today, families first.

Various players from the team have tweeted photos of their efforts to help as well as encouraging words to the families.
In this time of need and disaster, from everyone here at OVA, our thoughts, along with the WVU baseball team’s and everyone else, go out to the families involved in and around the Moore, Oklahoma area.
