WVU is enjoying its move to the BIG 12 even after a frustrating inaugural season. That enjoyment is coming from the payoff in recruiting for the Mountaineers. For the 2014 class, WVU has already added a four-star quarterback and a three-star receiver. Moving forward, the Mountaineers continue to strengthen up for the future.
Over the past week, the Mountaineers were able to land four big recruits for the 2014 season.
The first recruit was offensive lineman Josh Krok. Krok is 6’8″, 300 pounds and hails from Niles, Ohio. WVU beat out former Big East foes Louisville and Cincinnati to sign the big lineman.
Next, on the same day, WVU landed two receivers that resemble what they just lost in Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey. Lamar Parker and Jake McCrary weren’t teammates in high school but only sixteen miles separate their schools and now they’ll take the trip to Morgantown together.
Parker, a 5’8″ 150 pound speedster brings much of the same excitement that Austin brought to the table. Parker comes from Booker T. Washington, who produced Matthew Thomas, a five-star recruit. Parker also had offers from Florida State and Texas A&M.
McCrary, a 6’0″ 180 pound receiver brings great route running skills with him to WVU, something Stedman Bailey was known for. McCrary is no stranger to Bailey. Just after saying he was going to commit, he tweeted this:
@iamSB3 thanks for being a mentor to me glad ill be playing college ball at #WVU trying to break sum of your records

After that, he was encouraging recruit Davin Pierce to come with him to WVU saying, “it’s the new hot spot for WR”.
Rounding out the list is a local recruit, Amanii Brown. Brown will join Krok on the offensive line. Brown stands 6’5″ and weighs 260 pounds.
While Brown isn’t rated, the other three recruits are listed as three star athletes. WVU now has a four-star and four four-star recruits for the 2014 season. With this early run on recruiting, the Mountaineers are giving their fans hope for the future.
