Everyone deserves a second chance, right? Former four-star wide receiver Ronald Carswell knows all too well about redemption, and he’s looking to capitalize on that now with WVU.
In 2010, Carswell signed his letter of intent to play at Alabama. A four-star recruit at the time, Carswell made it on campus but was later suspended for spring practice while at Alabama. The suspension came due to academic reasons. Carswell soon left Alabama and went to play ball at a junior college.
Carswell himself has gone on record to say that he might have been a little cocky coming out of high school, but it seems that his time away from Division I football has changed that and he’s ready to get his second chance.
Carswell brings speed and versatility to the table, something WVU can use. He’s listed at 6’0″ 180 ponds. Scout.com gave him the four-star rating and ranked him as the 38th best WR prospect in 2010. Carswell will be able to play immediately for WVU, joining Kevin White on the list of JUCO receivers on the team.
