MORGANTOWN – West Virginia University’s Bill Stewart resigned as head football coach Friday evening. Stewart joined the WVU staff in 2001 as an assistant under Rich Rodriguez.
In 3 seasons as head coach, Stewart posted a record of 28-12, and the Mountaineers were 2010 Big East Co-Champions.
First time head coach, Dana Holgorsen will take over the Mountaineer program in 2011, after being lured away from Oklahoma State where he was an offensive coordinator only a year ago.
